The Icelandic actress Hera Hilmar is rather known in Iceland for her acting roles in Icelandic and foreign film and TV series. She has been nominated for and received many awards. She was first nominated for the Icelandic Edda-awards in 2007 for Actor of the year (when she was 19 years old), she won in the same category both in 2015 and 2017, for her roles in the films Life in a Fishbown and The Oath. Her newest role is the lead in the film Mortal Engines, written and produced by Peter Jackson. The film is in post-production.
Hera plays the lead role in the festival’s film An Ordinary Man alongside Ben Kingsley. She will attend the opening of the festival and a Q&A screening of the film alongside the film’s director Brad Silberling and producer Rick Dugdale.
