Estonian director Rainer Sarnet turns to his nation’s folk legends for inspiration in his new feature November premiered at Stockfish Film Festival. The film is based on the Estonian bestselling novel Rehepapp by Andrus Kivirähk. In his 48 years of existence, Rainer Sarnet has directed 5 films, lived with 3 women, accumulated about 10 friends, passionately loved fassbinder, directed theatre play by Przybyszewski, Gorky and Jelinek, been deemed a wonder child at film school and had got the opportunity to defend this ambitious title only 15 years later with his film – November. The film was premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and won a deserved cinematography prize at the festival. It was selected as the Estonian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 19th Academy Awards.
