Panel: The gender gap on the big screen

The panel ‘The Gender Gap on the Big Screen’ is a part of Stockfish Film Festival this year.

The reason for the panel is the shocking gender gap of the directors of the films screened in cinemas as shown in a new study that STIFF conducted in collaboration with the Icelandic Women’s Rights Association and funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Participants in the panel are Dögg Mósesdóttir chair of WIFT in Iceland, Hlín Jóhannesdóttir film producer, Margrét Örnólfsdóttir chair of The Icelandic Dramatists Union, Laufey Guðjónsdóttir director of the Icelandic Film Centre, Ása Baldursdóttir programmer forBíó Paradís, Þorsteinn Víglundsson Minister of Social Affairs and Equality and Guðrún Helga Jónasdóttir Head of purchasing of foreign material for RÚV.
The panel is moderated by Brynhildur Björnsdóttir.

This panel is organized by Icelandic Women’s Rights Association, WIFT in Iceland and STIFF – Stockholms feministiska filmfestival in collaboration with Stockfish Film Festival.

The panel will be conducted in Icelandic but notes in English will be handed out.

After the panel cocktails will be offered.
