Lynne Ramsay is a Scottish film director, writer, producer, and cinematographer. She was a guest of Stockfish back in 1997 under the former Reykjav\u00edk Film Festival. Her films are marked by a fascination with children and young people and the recurring themes of grief, guilt, death, and its aftermath. They are low on dialogue and explicit story exposition and use images, vivid details, music, and sound design to create their worlds.<\/span><\/p>

Lynne has received a BAFTA nomination for Best Director and Best Director prize at the British Independent Film Awards and a win for Best Film Screenplay at the Writer’s Guild of Great Britain, among other awards.<\/span><\/p>

Stockfish will be hosting a retrospective of her filmography and will therefore screen three of her films at the festival as a tribute to Ramsay. In addition to this, Ramsay will host an Open Talk where the audience is encouraged to ask her questions. Eva Khatchadourian is a travel writer\/publisher who gives up her beloved freedom and bohemian lifestyle to have a child with her husband, Franklin. When her boyfriend commits suicide, unambitious Glasgow clerk Morvern Callar invents various stories to explain his absence. After several days, she chops up and buries the body. She then finds a novel he completed before killing himself and sends it to several publishing houses as her own work.
