WORK IN PROGRESS

Stockfish Film Festival has opened up submissions for Work in Progress which takes place during Stockfish Industry Days. Work in Progress gives a unique opportunity for projects that are not yet finalized to be presented to the domestic and foreign media as well as to the variety of industry professionals attending our festival. In addition, there has always been a great interest in the event by artistic directors of other festivals, foreign journalists and sales representatives. Projects within the Work in Progress aim to implement their distribution and promotional potential. Participants will present their projects and share some clips from their works. Afterwards, the film’s representatives will answer some questions from the audience in the form of a Q&A. Deadline: 15th of March 2025

A space where writers can refine their skills, receive feedback, and connect with a community that shares their passion for storytelling. The SFIF Writers Lab also plays a crucial role in the development and success of Icelandic writers by providing a supportive environment for learning, growth, collaboration, and networking.

A 3-day Writers’ Room Lab exploring the creative process of storytelling for Film & TV. The goal of the lab is to develop and encourage new languages of storytelling to emerge and build a  pipeline of writers telling stories that would otherwise not come to the surface. Our major initiative is to invite writers who are experienced but who need their craft nurtured and work through their market-ready screenplays to pitch them to the industry.

Participants

This is not a lab for beginning writers. Each writer should have completed a screenplay or a feature/TV episode in order to be eligible.

Application Process

Participants will apply with scripts in development and 12 writers will be invited to the program.

Please note this is ONLY open to writers who have had experience writing a script before.  The lab is not for first-time writers.

To participate in this program it is necessary to submit a project logline and synopsis, a script, and a writer bio.
