Short Film Competition – Sprettfiskur/Shortfish

The short film competition Shortfish is divided into four categories: fiction, documentary, experimental works, and music videos, reflecting the diversity and creativity within Icelandic filmmaking. The competition aims to highlight emerging filmmakers and encourage excellence with awards that can help lay the foundation for their next project.

The prizes are sponsored by KUKL equipment rental and RÚV. The winning films will be broadcast on RÚV and made available on its streaming platform.

After each screening, there will be a discussion with the film’s director.

They take the stage, hurt and distant from each other. Their movements lack life and joy until they reach a dance step that requires trust and teamwork. At that moment, they reconnect and finish the routine filled with enthusiasm. However, things have changed—Kara learns to accept that they are growing apart, and that’s okay.

Ramminn is a film about sibling dynamics, parent-child relationships, rewriting the past, and the role of technology in preserving memories.
