In collaboration with the cultural festival Uppskera, we invite you to a seminar on inclusion, accessibility and the representation of disabled people in film and television. What does the world look like from the perspective of disabled individuals, and how can we ensure that all are reflected in Icelandic scripted content? How do we guarantee access and visibility for disabled actors and creators? Who tells the story? From what perspective? Perspective holds power. The camera holds power. Where do we currently stand in these matters? Where do we want to go, and how do we plan to get there?
Plantan Café will serve delicious soup to seminar guests.
The event is held in connection with the cultural festival Uppskera. The occasion for the festival is the 20th anniversary of Disability Studies at the University of Iceland. The festival aims to highlight the contributions of scholars, disabled people’s organizations, and disabled artists to Icelandic culture.
