There have been changes in the executive leadership of Stockfish Film Festival. Dögg Mósesdóttir, an experienced film festival professional, has taken the helm as Festival Director, with Halla Þórlaug Óskarsdóttir as Assistant Director, bringing extensive expertise in event management.

Dögg is a director, producer, and screenwriter with a diverse background in films, having worked on narrative films, documentaries, music videos, and more. She is the founder of Northern Wave Productions and has been a driving force behind WIFT Iceland, serving as chair for many years. She also founded and directed Northern Wave Film Festival, where she launched the initiative “Nordic Girls Shoot”. Dögg was one of the founding members of Stockfish and served on its board during the festival’s early years.

Halla Þórlaug holds a BA in Fine Arts and MA in Creative Writing. She has led numerous cultural events, including the Queer Situations literary festival, and worked as a program producer at RÚV.

Both Dögg and Halla share a passion for Stockfish Film Festival and its future.

The outgoing directors of Stockfish Film Festival, Carolina Salas and Hrönn Kristinsdóttir, are warmly thanked for their remarkable contributions to the festival. Under their leadership, Stockfish experienced tremendous growth, with the audience size increasing more than tenfold. They successfully managed two highly acclaimed editions of the festival, securing exceptional guests and curating outstanding industry days programs.

As they now move on to new roles within the film industry, the Stockfish team extends its deepest gratitude for their invaluable work and wishes them the very best in their future projects.
