TORI AND LOKITA

The film is based in Belgium today and tells the story of a young boy and an adolescent girl who both escaped alone from Africa. Together they face violent and unjust situations like many other young people in exile in Belgia or other countries in Europe. Yet the story is of a friendship, a beautiful and intense friendship, not a betrayed friendship but an unfailing friendship.
Joely Mbundu, the actress in the film will be present during an Open Talk after the screening of the film on 28th of March and 29th of March.

“Tori and Lokita” puts its characters through hell to elicit some tears and send an urgent message. You may consider this an empathetic film — exploitative might be the better word.”
Iana Murray. The Playlist

“It’s another deeply humane parable of life on the margins in Belgium’s hardscrabble suburbs, engaging and heartbreaking in equal measure.”
Philip De Semlyen. Time Out.
